To The American People

“To the American People: Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world. ”

Calvin Coolidge, Presidential message, December 25, 1927

  1. Until yesterday, I hadn’t noted this quote before … but now I’ve encountered it twice within the past 24 hours. It’s excellent because Christmas is a state of mind … a state of mind not only for Christians, but I claim for all. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  2. It’s funny. I’ve had this sitting in queue for a while now. Funny how serendipity can take you where you need to be when you need to be there. Happy New Year, Frank. Merriest of Christmas seasons to you.
